NYC Fashion Week and the Blizzard

Every designer’s worst nightmare… Fashion Week is like Prom Night for designers. This year the snowstorm up north has interrupted shipments of key items. Marc Jacobs’ team told Women’s Wear Daily, “We’re missing bags, shoes, and two fabrics.”

If you are planning to order your prom dress online, we recommend ordering as early in advance as possible. You never know if the dress of your dreams is in stock. Cinderella’s Closet has over 5,000 prom dresses in stock, but not every dress is immediately available in every color and every size; that would be millions of dresses! When we don’t have your dress in your color and size available in our store we check with the designer who may have it in their warehouse or may have to make the dress which can take 12 weeks!

We want to make sure you find a dress that is perfect for you. We are happy to work with you if you have questions about how to order or what is available in time for your prom. Remember to order early so you can get the dress you want and have time for alterations and picking out the perfect accessories.

The weather has also made it difficult for the models to arrive on time for Fashion Week. While most of us don’t have to worry about snow during prom, we can worry about rain. Our recommendation? Have a stylish umbrella on hand if rain is possible. And after prom pictures? It’s the perfect opportunity to dance in the rain!

We love Page 011 of the Cinderella’s Collection with chivalrous Jacob holding this gorgeous parsol over Miss Georgia Jazz Wilkins!
